Malabar Pied Hornbill
tossing prey in the air

Due to it’s short tongue and large beak, hornbills have to toss their food in the air several times before the food gets to the back of it’s mouth and swallow it.
Due to the overcast skies, I over-exposed this shot slightly to get a white sky to contrast the dark feathers of the Malabar Hornbill to create more visual impact.
